Sun Yu, a CFLC postdoctoral fellow specializing in English literature, has been announced as a recipient of a grant under the Cross-Straits Postdoctoral Exchange Program sponsored by the Fujian Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. The grant has been awarded to support his research at Taiwan University for three months.
Since enrolling in his current postdoctoral program, Sun Yu has been researching the studies of Shakespeare’s plays in Taiwan. In June this year, he became the first mainland Chinese researcher to attend the annual forum of the Taiwan Shakespeare Research Society, where he shared his research findings with academics and researchers in Taipei and in Taiwan at large.
Taiwan has emerged in recent years as a rising star in the research of Shakespeare’s plays, attracting the attention of the international Shakespeare research community.
Sun Yu’s research is expected to contribute to the mainland Chinese academic community’s understanding of the research of Shakespeare’s research in Taiwan.
